Malam Aku, Dia dan Lagu. One of the memorable concert that I've attended. Its a tribute to this famous lyricist, Cikgu Mohd Nor or well known as Yusnor Ef.
Like he said, most of his lyrics has stories behind it and to me the song 'Gelisah' is really meaningful to me and left a huge impact on me, after knowing what are the meaning behind it. And yes. It's one of me and Daniel's favorite songs too. Although Daniel isn't a malay, he like that song for its sad tune and melody.
However, this concert didnt bring me to tears like how 'Tribute to Kartina Dahari' does. I guess its because of Cikgu's sense of humor during his speech, didnt make me feel that way. Nevertheless, I'm proud to be on that stage playing all the songs by Kassim Masdor, A.Ramlee and a few other songwriter, whose lyrics were by Cikgu himself. Never did I think to perform Pop YehYeh songs on stage. Yesterday's concert prove me wrong.
I was quite shocked by the response of that night's concert. Its full house and everyone responded well. Especially when the artists started singing their songs, and everyone cheered. It feels like Pop YehYeh just reincarnate.
Anyway, Congrats to Cikgu Yusnor Ef. You have been a great role model to many out there and I guess, for me too. To start writing or composing songs. I guess its time for me to venture to different things out there other than orchestral arrangement.
To Pak Ngah, I'm sorry if any of my notes abit wrong here and there, or bowings mistakes, nonetheless, its been a great pleasure and an eye-opening experience to be working and playing under your baton. Thank you.
